And again letter.
Dear Meg,
Thanks a lot for your letter. It was so interesting to hear about celebration of Saint Valentine's day in England. You asked me to tell about Estonian celebration. I choose a coming celebration - Maslenitsa (Shrovertide). It's Russian celebration, but Estonian people celebrate it too.
Shrovertide - is a sunny and funny farewell to winter and meeting of spring, generating in nature warmth of the sun. People from old times perceived Shrovertide as the beginning of spring, new life, and worship the sun, giving life and strength to all animals, plants and people. In honor of the sun people baked pancakes and still doing that now. Ancient people believed pancake as a symbol of the sun, because it is like the sun: yellow, round and hot. And people believed that together with the pancake, they eat a piece of sun power.
Now during this holiday people cook and eat pancakes, often go to visit. Most of all I like the tradition of riding on sledge. Each year at the Song Festival Ground organized a big celebration. There is big concert and people are riding on sledges.
I like that holiday very much, because for me it's associated with ending of winter end beginning of spring.

Favourite sport
Novadays I'm doing two kinds of sport: swimming and ship modelling. I enjoy both this sports and will write about all.
First of all I'll write about swimming. When I was small I didn't like water and everything connected with it, but now I really like swimming. I started doing that sport when I was eight, and still doing.
I have trainings every day, and twice a day when near is competitions or etc. But for me it isn't to go to the trainings because my swimming pool is near to my house. I have to walk only 5 minutes. For trainig you must have some eguipment like swimming glasses, flippers, paddles and other things. i think it require some instruction first, because even swimming can be dangerous. I like my trainings, bacause I have great and professional masters.
I participated in many competitions, has won many prizes and I am going to continue further in tha same way.
I like that I can swim, because it is very useful in summer. In summer I like going with my friends to swim to the river or to the sea.
Second kind of sport that I like is ship modelling. It'svery interesting but this kind of sport requires patience. I started doing that when I was 7: I was walking in the park Kadriorg and saw a ship modelling competitions. I liked it vrey much and sit there up to the end. There I contracted with master and started doing that sport.
For doing that sport it's necessary many equipment: materials, electronics and devices. Good master is very necessary too. Everytime he can give advices and help. At spring I'll go to the Estonian championships, and at summer I'll go the world champs. I like it, because I like to work or do something with technics. It'svery interesting.
